Public Consultation on MECAP in Korça

As part of the SECCO Project activities, SEMP supports the Municipality of Korça in developing a comprehensive Municipal Energy and Climate Action Plan (MECAP). This plan aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency, and promote sustainable practices across the region.

The municipality of Korça invites all citizens, experts, NGOs, and stakeholders to participate in two upcoming public consultation meetings organized by the municipality. The stakeholders’ input is crucial to ensure the final MECAP adequately addresses the needs and priorities of Korça’s communities.

During these meetings, the MECAP team will present the plan’s current status, proposed measures, and implementation strategies. Attendees can ask questions, provide feedback, and suggestions on key areas such as improving public transportation, promoting energy-efficient buildings, utilizing renewable energy sources, and raising awareness on sustainable practices.

Active participation of all stakeholders and citizens is vital to shaping a greener, more sustainable future for Korça. As partners in this endeavor, all interested parties are encouraged to join these consultations and contribute their valuable insights.

Together with the municipality and its citizens a comprehensive MECAP will be developed that truly reflects the aspirations of Korça’s citizens and paves the way for a livable and ecological city for generations to come.
