Powering Change: Albanian Municipalities Collaborate on Energy Efficiency
October 23 and 24 a peer exchange between the first four pilot SEMP municipalities: Berat, Shkodra, Permet and Korca, and the six recently joined six municipalities of Devoll, Girokastra, Lezha, Mat, Puka and Shijak took place in Tirana. On the first day the municipalities learned about the new features of the EnerCoach Tool and the four experienced municipalities shared their experience in setting the energy accounting for their public buildings. The six new municipalities will continue the introduction of data about their public building stock in EnerCoach.
On the second day, the municipalities exchanged about how to plan projects, develop pipelines and engage in their implementation. The results of 50 preliminary energy audits in selected public buildings were presented by SEMP team. Berat, Shkodra, Permet and Korca shared their experience in the development of Municipal Energy and Climate Action Plans as well as plans for their implementation.
Philipp Arnold, Deputy Head of Mission, appreciated the work done up to now and motivated the municipalities to keep on track. Ani Hasa, Director of the Agency of Energy Efficiency, confirmed the Agencies’ ongoing support regarding the achievement of the energy and climate targets.
