Shkodër finalizes Local Energy and Climate Plan
The SEMP project reached a milestone as the MEMU team of Shkodër Municipality held a public consultation meeting to finalize the local Energy and Climate Plan. The meeting brought together municipal council members, municipality representatives, and various stakeholders.
Mr. Oltjon Luli, the Chairman, opened the meeting by emphasizing the importance of SEMP activities and SECCO’s support in shaping Shkodër Municipality’s development. Municipal representatives and project experts then presented the plan’s preparation process, content, and proposed measures.
The meeting delved into technical aspects of the plan, with participants seeking clarifications on specific issues and measures. The discussion focused on how improving public transport infrastructure could reduce traffic congestion and private vehicle use, leading to lower greenhouse gas emissions.
An engaging discussion revolved around the plan’s potential impact on the 2024 budget. Participants debated the necessity of budget revisions and how they would be implemented in the coming years. Attendees also sought information about the municipality’s upcoming energy efficiency contracts, including both current agreements and future initiatives.
Shkodër Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to overseeing the implementation of the Local Energy and Climate Plan and approval, aiming to position Shkodër as a successful recipient of the European Energy Award.
