Smart Energy Municipalities Project (SEMP)

The Swiss Government is lending its support to the Albanian municipalities of Berat, Korça, Përmet, and Shkodra through the “Smart Energy Municipalities Project in Albania (SEMP).” This initiative aims to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact in these municipalities.

The project comprises two main components with five sub-components, working together to achieve two primary outcomes. The first outcome focuses on establishing an effective energy management framework at both the municipal and national levels, while the second outcome aims to provide citizens in selected municipalities with energy-efficient public services delivered by efficient administrations.

The project’s implementation period is from year 2021 to 2024 and is coordinated by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the Swiss Confederation (SECO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy of the Republic of Albania.
